stop的用法

stop可用作及物动词，也可用作不及物动词，有停止，中断，堵塞，阻挠等含义。用作名词时，有停止，停车站等含义。

1、stop的释义

vi. 停止；中断；逗留；（使）停止工作

vt. 塞住；堵塞；阻挠；止付

n. 停止；（管风琴的）音栓；停车站；（管风琴的）音管

2、stop的用法

一、stop作及物动词

1.停止;中止,止住[+v-ing]

It has stopped raining.

雨停了。

2.阻止,阻挡[(+from)]

The policemen stopped the fight.

警察制止了这场斗殴.

The heavy snow stopped him from coming to our party.

那场大雪使他未能前来参加我们的宴会.

3.塞住;堵塞;填塞[(+up)]

We stopped the leak in the gas pipe by means of lead.

我们用铅堵塞了煤气管上的漏洞.

4.断绝;止付;扣留

The boss has stopped my wages.

老板已停发我的工资.

5.用手指压(乐器的孔、弦)

二、stop作不及物动词

1.停止;中止

Stop for a while and take a rest.

停一会儿休息休息.

My watch has stopped.

我的表停了。

2.停下来(做别的事)[+to-v]

He stopped to listen to her talking.

他停下来听她说话。

3.逗留;歇宿;(偶然)过访

On my way home I stopped at my aunt's.

回家途中我顺便到姑妈那儿去了一会儿。

He stopped at a hotel for the night.

他在一家旅馆过夜。

The train came to a stop.

火车停了下来.

2.停车站

I'll get off at the next stop.

我下一站下车.

3.标点(特指句号)

4.逗留;歇宿

We made a stop in Tokyo.

我们在东京停留了一下。
